Cover your spouse and children under one policy, with pediatric benefits and household deductibles.
Family coverage insures multiple household members under a single policy. Marketplace family plans include pediatric services as an essential health benefit, covering well-child visits, immunizations and pediatric dental and vision care. When comparing family plans, the family deductible and family out-of-pocket maximum matter more than the individual figures, because a plan can require several individual deductibles to be satisfied before family-level protection applies, a detail that surprises people during a bad year. It is also worth checking whether splitting the household across two plans produces a better result: if one parent has strong employer coverage, enrolling the children on a subsidised Marketplace plan is sometimes cheaper overall. Children may additionally qualify for CHIP depending on household income, even when the parents do not qualify for Medicaid.
That’s the normal starting point. Tell a licensed agent what matters to you (your doctors, your prescriptions, your budget) and they’ll narrow it down. No cost, no obligation.
Outside these hours, submit a quote request and an agent will call you back on the next business day. TTY users dial 711.
Most people combine a primary plan with one or two add-ons.
